
For the second time in two days an elderly driver has been injured in a crash involving a farm implement near Beloit.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a tractor pulling a swather and a 1998 Ford F 150 pickup truck were traveling south on K-14 Highway. The driver of the truck, 86-year-old Rex Henningsen of Beloit, did not realize The tractor was a slow moving vehicle. The truck struck the rear of the farm implement.
Henningsen, who was buckled up, was hurt. He was transported to the Mitchell County Hospital. The driver of the tractor was not hurt.
The crash happened at 6:20 Wednesday evening a mile north of Beloit on K-14 Highway.
It was the second crash in two days involving a farm implement in the area. Tuesday evening an 84-year-old man was killed when a truck he was driving ran into a slow moving combine as he was trying to pass it on U.S. 24 Highway near Beloit.
