“Clean Sweep” Campaign Bus Stops In Salina

The GOP “Clean Sweep” bus tour rolled into Salina Thursday afternoon. The brightly colored bus is rolling across the state, carrying Republican candidates for state and federal offices on the campaign trail.

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback was first off the bus when it stopped at Salina’s Oakdale Park. He tells KSAL News the tour is important to get the Republican message across the state. Brownback said that message is simple, “you can choose the Kansas way or the Obama way”.

Joining Governor Brownback at the Salina stop were Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer, U.S. Congressman Tim Huelskamp, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt, Kansas Treasurer Ron Estes and Kansas Insurance Commissioner candidate Ken Selzer. US Senator Pat Roberts’ daughter also addressed the crowd.

The tour comes as several Republican incumbents, most notably Governor Brownback and Senator Pat Roberts, are involved in very closely contested campaigns.
