The Wichita Police Department’s new gunshot detection system is up and running.

The Raven Gunshot Detection System can alert officers of gunfire within 30 seconds and allow them to arrive at the scene before dispatch gets the information.

The system uses five years of data to determine the most frequent locations that experience gunfire.
