Woman Threatened with Knife

Police arrest a Salina man after an argument with a woman turns violent.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Highland Ave. on Tuesday evening just before 11pm after 19-year-old Shakur Phillips allegedly whipped an 18-year-old female acquaintance with a phone cord on the legs.

Police say Phillips then punched her in the face causing her lip to swell and nose to bleed.

The woman told officers he destroyed her cell phone and also threatened to cut her with an 8-inch serrated kitchen knife is she tried to leave.

Phillips is now facing charges that could include aggravated assault, damage to property and criminal threat.
