KSAL StaffJuly 7, 2014

Salina Police Department is investigating a scam on Craigslist.

A 31-year old female employee of Salina Dental Arts reported she had listed dental chairs on Craigslist. She received several text messages from a man using the name of Matt Baker, who stated he was interested in purchasing the chairs for $800.

Baker sent a check to the woman worth $2,000 to buy the chairs and cover the cost of moving. He instructed her to transfer the remaining money to a Jose Gonzales through a MoneyGram for the cost of moving.

The employee is reporting a loss of $1,200 in the alleged scam.
