Wednesday Morning Crash

A single car crash on I-135 near Mentor sends a Salina woman to the hospital.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that around 7:35am Wednesday morning, 59-year-old Beth Cunningham was headed southbound on I-135 and swerved to miss a box on the roadway.

The 2008 Mercury Sable she was driving began to fishtail and then went down an embankment and came to rest near the on-ramp at milepost #86. Cunningham complained of pain to her ribs and was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.

Her passenger, Allison Hayes, 31 was not hurt. Deputies say both women were buckled up.

Damage to the car included the front driver side wheel being broken off.
