The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a residential burglary east of Assaria.

According to Undersheriff Brent Melander, thieves forced their way into a garage at a home in the 7000 block of E. Assaria Road and stole two rifles, ammunition and multiple tools.

Deputies say sometime between June 19 and June 28, someone stole a Remington .22-250 rifle, a Winchester .30-30 lever action rifle plus over 50 boxes of ammunition.

Owner Erik Baragar told deputies the burglars also removed welding tools, a Stihl chainsaw, power tools and a toolbox full of assorted hand tools.

Loss is listed at $3,300.
