Earthquakes Shake State

A series of small earthquakes shook residents in Southern Kansas early Sunday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, three small earthquakes were centered near Eastborough in the Wichita area.

The first earthquake was a 3.4 magnitude at 6:29 AM. A 3.5 quake followed two minutes later. A 3.0 quake then rattled the same area at 7:01 AM. Just after 6:00 in the evening a 3.9 quake was registered in the same area.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries linked to the seismic activity.

Earthquakes of this magnitude, ranging between 2.5 and 5.4, are often felt but only cause minor damage.
