Stolen Car Found on Fire

KSAL StaffMay 12, 2014

A stolen vehicle is set on fire in front of a Salina Motel.

The car, a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis, was taken from the 800 block of Osage between May 10 and May 11. It was found ablaze at Village Inn at 452 S. Broadway early Sunday morning. The Salina Fire Department was able to contain the fire.

The owner of the vehicle, Melissa Slay, was not aware that the car was stolen. The case is still under investigation, but is being assumed as arson.

The vehicle was valued at $3000.
