SPD Plans Friday Seat Belt Enforcement

KSAL StaffJune 17, 2014

Salina Police will be out in force Friday evening – looking for seat belt violations.

Lt. Russ Lamer tells KSAL News that four officers and one spotter will be working around the city, from 9pm Friday to 1am Saturday, looking for occupants who are not buckled up.

Lt. Lamer says that citations for unrestrained adults are $10 while the citation for children under 18-years old who are not buckled up is $60 plus court costs of $55.

The extra hours for officers is paid for by a special night time seat belt enforcement grant.
