While it’s not uncommon for a deploying soldier to marry his girlfriend before leaving, it is uncommon to marry her at a truck stop. A Fort Riley Soldier getting ready to deploy to Kuwait is planning to marry his girlfriend Friday, at the Salina truck stop where they met.
According to the Petro company, Sgt, Noah McClurg is planning to marry Carrie Williamson Friday evening at the Salina Petro Stopping Center.
The couple chose this Petro location because it’s where they met. Carrie works at the Starbucks located inside the store.
More than 50 friends and family are expected to attend the wedding ceremony, including members of McClurg’s Army Platoon. Servicemen in attendance will be outfitted in dress blues or Class A uniforms.
The Petro Stopping Center travel center is located at 2125 N. 9th Street.
