Six Arrested In Drug Task Force Bust

With the help from numerous Salina and Kansas departments, the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force carried out six search warrants stemming from a long-term investigation into drug violations by a group of Salina citizens on Monday.

Warrants were issued for Jerry Lee Robinson, Jr., 34, 1 Willow Court; Jacob Wayne Thompson, 25, 115 West Wilson; Zacari Dwayne Smoove, 32, 909 Harold; Justin Ray Thompson, 28, 421 West Beloit; Justin Lee Smull, 20, 155 North Broadway; and Patrick William McBride, 20, 315 North Tenth Street, Apartment 3.

Officers were able to seize an estimated street value of $31,000 in combined drugs, including 1.49 pounds of marijuana; 19 live marijuana plants which were part of a grow operation; 69.5 grams of cocaine; 3.9 grams methamphetamine; 1.2 grams of THC wax; along with two handguns, one assault rifle and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

The investigation began from a methamphetamine/marijuana distribution investigation involving all parties. Task Force Commander Capt. Jim Norton tells KSAL news that it’s believed Robinson was importing drugs from the state of California during the past three months. Law enforcement has sized evidence suggesting multiple shipments of drugs were imported.

Specific criminal charges were filed against the six suspects including possession, cultivation and distribution of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are anticipated.
