Severe Weather Rumbles Across Area

Severe weather rumbled across central Kansas early Sunday morning.

Damaging wind, large hail, and heavy rain fell across much of the area.

The strongest wind was reported in Ottawa County. Wind up to 65 mph knocked down limbs an trees in Minneapolis, Tescott, Culver, and Bennington. There were also sporadic, brief power outages.

Wind in excess of 50 mph was reported in portions of Saline County, along with pea sized hail.

The storms dropped very large hail earlier in western Kansas. In the Kanorado area in extreme western Kansas there were reports of hail up the size of baseballs, and along with very strong wind, a flattened grain bin.
