Salina Man Pleads No Contest In Son’s Death

A Salina man pleads no contest to first-degree murder in connection with the death of his 3-month-old son.

Saline County Attorney Ellen Mitchell tells KSAL News that 27-year-old Nicholas Corbin pleaded no contest to first-degree murder Monday afternoon in Saline County District Court. Last week, 21-year-old Desirah N. Overturf plead no contest to the same charges.

Police were called to the couple’s home in December because of an unresponsive child. The infant, Jordan Corbin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court records, allegedly in an effort to get their old lives back, the couple had decided to quit feeding Jordan.

Both Corbin and Overturf will be sentenced in September. They are expected to be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
