Salina Man Arrested in Stabbing

An argument inside a Salina motel turns violent when a man stabs a woman with a knife.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that a woman in her 30’s ran for help after she was allegedly stabbed in the arm by a man at the Airliner Motel, located at 781 N. Broadway Monday morning at around 6:30am.

Police interviewed the victim at the nearby Valero Fuel Station, 848 N. Broadway before she was transported by EMS to Salina Health Center where she was treated and released.

A short time later officers located 55-year-old John E. Broyles II walking in the area of Santa Fe and North Street and took him into custody.

A knife believed to be the weapon was found inside his motel room.

Broyles II is now facing a charge of aggravated battery.
