Salina Farmers’ Market Opens Saturday

The Salina Farmers’ Market opens for the season this weekend. The market opens Saturday for its 16th season.

This year There will be 11 full-time vendors offering everything from locally raised meats and garden produce to cheese, honey, fresh-roasted coffee beans, soaps, jams and jellies, baked goods and cut flowers. Not all of the vendors are expected at the first market because a late, cool spring has delayed production of a lot of produce.

Individuals can buy directly from the producers and have the opportunity to meet them and ask them questions.

Musical entertainment is provided, and customers can enter a drawing to receive one item from each vendor present the following week. The value of the total package varies each week, depending on how many vendors are present.

The market, which sets up in the parking lot in front of Waters True Value Hardware, 460 S. Ohio, will be open every Saturday morning, from 7:30 to 11 a.m., through Oct. 11.
