Record Heat Again In Salina

Triple digit heat in Salina sets a record.

According to the National Weather Service, the high temperature in Salina on Tuesday was a record 101 degrees. It is the second earliest 100+ degree reading ever. The Earliest was 105 on April 23, 1989.

It’s the second time in three days a record was set in Salina. On Sunday, it was a record 96 degree.

It will be hot again Wednesday, with a high near 100 expected again.

Early Thursday a cold front will come through, bringing cooler temperatures and a chance for showers and thunderstorms. The best chance for storms is generally south and east of the Salina area,

The high Thursday is expected to be in the upper 70s.
