Police arrested a Salina man on charges of rape and domestic battery.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that officers were called to Salina Regional Health Center on November 7, after a woman told staff she had been raped. Police issued a warrant last week, and arrested 46-year-old Marshall J. Matthews on Thursday in connection to an alleged rape that occurred in a central Salina home.

Police say Matthews held a woman he was acquainted with, against her will and raped her.

Captain Sweeney says police are also requesting charges of kidnapping because he would not let the woman leave the house for about a four hour period.
