Quick Change Thief Hits Store

Salina Police are reviewing store video of a ‘quick change artist.’

According to Lt. Sean Morton, a suspect described as a black male, turned a $3.95 purchase at Wal-Mart into a $170 loss for the store.

The man began his transaction at the checkout lane with a $50 bill – and after a series of requests walked out with a bottle of water, an order of hot fried chicken bites and $170 in cash.

The incident happened at about 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon at the Salina Wal-Mart located at 2900 S. 9th.
