Police Work Crash after Stabbing

A head on traffic crash follows a stabbing in Salina.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, police and ambulance units were working at an apartment building in the 500 block of E. Crawford just before 7am on Thursday morning after a 44-year-old male was stabbed with a knife.

Captain Sweeney tells KSAL News that it appears a 99-year-old female driver may have been distracted by first responders – and crossed the center line around 2nd and E. Crawford and hit another car head on.

The woman was hurt and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The stabbing victim was transported to Salina Regional Health Center for three puncture wounds to his chest and stomach.

Police say they are looking for two suspects in the stabbing, a male and female. Officers say the victim was stabbed in a robbery over prescription drugs.
