The Salina Police Department is warning citizens about phone scams after a man in his 60’s was swindled out of $1,700. Police say the caller told the victim he had won $8.8 million plus a new Mercedes Benz in the ‘Golden Nugget Cash Giveaway.” Over the course of several days the caller convinced the man to send $1,700 to process his winnings.

Police arrested 43-year-old Davey Favors on Sunday after he allegedly attempted to strangle a female in her 30’s during a domestic dispute in the area of 7th and Decatur. The woman was treated at the hospital for bruises on her neck.

Police are looking for a 1998 Toyota Camry that was stolen from a residence in the 2100 block of Brookwood on Saturday. The car is valued at $2,000 and has Kansas tag: 123 HGS.
