Stanley Cyrill Otto Horinek, 91, of Salina, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Legacy of Salina Nursing Home. He was born on a farm north of Beardsley, Kansas to Stanley J. and Maria V. (Kacirek) Horinek, on April 30, 1934. He attended various country schools and graduated from Atwood High School. He was a licensed barber and beautician.
He proudly served his tour of duty in the United States Army. On October 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to his grade school sweetheart, Janice E. Hopkins of McDonald, Kansas at Sacred Heart Church in Atwood. To this union three daughters were born, Vicki, Dixie, and Nancy. He retired from the City of Concordia, Kansas.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, Kansas and Catholic Workman Branch #74. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1432, Salina. The highlight of his life was his wife Janice, his daughters, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death his wife, Janice; parents, Stanley and Maria Horinek; sisters, Regina, Edith, Marge, and twins, Marie and Martha; brother, Dennis.
Survivors include his daughters, Vicki (Monti) Frank, Dixie (Mark) Bowersox, and Nancy Newlin; grandchildren, Celice (Erik) Stancil, Chantell Plank (Ryan Dowell), Oona Rose, Gavin Frank, Chelsea Bowersox, Chance Bowersox, Dustin (Casey) Newlin, Derek (Paula) Newlin; great-grandchildren, Maizley, Kenzley, Khaza, Nyzah, and Izzy Stancil, Jordyn and Jackson Rose, Liam and Harper Bowersox, Kohl, Sage and Brier Newlin, Brandon and D.J. Smith, Kelsie Smith, Will Newlin, Knox Harr, Mox and Riggs Smith, Jordan and Jace Dowell.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Fort Riley Honor Guard and VFW Post #1432.
