Rosa Turner

Rosa Turner passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 at the age of 103.  She was born December 21, 1921 to Helen and Joseph Geist in Park, Kansas.   Rosa grew up on a farm in Hoxie, Kansas and remained a farm girl at heart.  After moving to Salina, she met and married Clyde Turner in 1943.  Due to an accident, Clyde passed away in 1956. She was left with three children to raise.  She successfully did that by first working at the Spudnut Shop then J.C. Penney from which she retired.

She was a Girl Scout leader for several years.  She loved to polka dance and play Skip-Bo, which she usually won!  After retiring she enjoyed afternoon coffee at McDonald’s and Saturday breakfast at Appletree Restaurant with her friends.  She was a Catholic of great faith and lived her life accordingly.

She is survived by a son, Dan (Judy) Turner of Sebring, Florida; daughter, Nadine (Melvin) Webster of Salina; sister, Leona Peters of Denver; five grandchildren, Danelle, Missy, Teresa, Travis, Meranda, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Clyde; daughter, Carla Gustin; granddaughter, Danette; two sisters, and three brothers.

She has taken her stuffed kitties, which have given her so much comfort these last weeks, to heaven with her.  She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She is now reunited with her heavenly family.  She will be greatly missed by the rest of us.

A Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. with a Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025 all at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Inurnment will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery, Salina.
