Pedestrian Hit Assisting At Accident

Slick roads contribute to multiple crashes south of Salina early Monday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crashes were on Interstate 135 at milepost 78, the north Lindsborg exit. They happened shortly after 6:00 in the morning.

Trooper JL Riedel reported that a motorcycle rider who lost control on an icy bridge was on of the three accidents. The rider not injured.

As the motorcycle was parked on the side of the road, a car lost control due to icy bridge conditions. The car hit the motorcycle, and pedestrian who had stopped to help the motorcycle rider.

The pedestrian is identified as 47-year-old Joel Longbine from Sedgwick. He was transported to a Wichita hospital.

Longbine was the only person hurt in the incident.
