KSAL StaffMarch 24, 2014

A man is arrested on multiple charges after failing to return a rented drain auger.

Salina Police were contacted by staff at Waters True Value, 460 S. Ohio, on Saturday after a customer failed to bring back some plumbing equipment he rented for a 3-hour period on March 13th.

Police went to interview the man and found him driving a car reported stolen in Wichita on March 16th. Adam Humphrey, 29, of Salina and a passenger 20-year-old Alison Carter were arrested on Saturday in the 1300 block of Arapahoe after a traffic stop.

Police allege they also found a sawed off 12-gage shotgun in the vehicle. Humphrey is facing an additional charge for criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.

The drain auger was recovered.
