Man Suffers Serious Injuries

KSAL StaffDecember 4, 2013

A Salina man is hospitalized after stepping out of a moving vehicle.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, 24-year-old Joshua Svendblad was transported to Salina Regional Health Center late Tuesday after suffering a fractured skull.

Police say Svendblad was a passenger in a pickup driven by 23-year-old Kaitlin Wilson.

The two apparently had just left a residence in Salina at about 11:30pm when for an unknown reason he opened the door and stepped out while they were traveling at about 30 mph in the 300 block of S. 11th.

Lt. Siemsen says his injuries are considered serious.

Police believe alcohol may have played a role in Svendblad’s behavior.
