A Salina man is jailed on charges of indecent solicitation of a child and sexual contact with a 15-year-old female.

Police arrested 31-year-old Darris C. Thomas on Saturday after staff at Salina’s aquatic park contacted authorities.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that the solicitation charges stem from an incident at Kenwood Cove on Friday afternoon.

Police say Thomas allegedly solicited two young teen girls at the pool for sexual favors. They told their mother who contacted police.

When Thomas returned to the pool the next day – staff recognized him, called police who then took him into custody.

Further investigation led to additional charges linking back to alleged fondling of a 15-year-old female in a locked bathroom at McDonald’s Restaurant, 701 S. Broadway on June 11th. The girl involved originally told officers she was sixteen and had consented, but background work proved she lied to officers about her age and Thomas was also charged with indecent liberties and lewd fondling.
