A Salina man is behind bars after an alleged incident with a knife.

Officers were called to a home in west Salina on Sunday morning around 1:30am, after an argument turned violent.

Police arrested 28-year-old Michael Rizer Sunday, on charges of aggravated battery and criminal threat, after a 33-year-old female told officers he tried to strangle her.

The woman told police he also allegedly threatened her with a 3-inch folding knife, holding it to her cheek.

Police report the woman had a small cut but was not treated by EMS.
