A log splitter and cart were stolen from a rural tree line.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a Swisher, 22 ton log splitter, 2-wheel cart and hand held log turner that were taken from a grove of trees near the river in the 1800 block of N. Gypsum Valley Road sometime between November 6 and November 20.

The owner told deputies he’d kept the equipment covered up in the area for years and had never had a problem.

Loss is estimated at $1,315.
