Kansas Truck Drivers Protest This Morning in Newton

KSAL StaffDecember 4, 2017

Kansas truck drivers are planning to speak out against a new federal regulation.

Starting this month, semis and other commercial trucks will be required to have an electronic logging device. The devices are designed to prevent drivers from spending too many hours behind the wheel, but critics say they actually cause more crashes and prevent drivers from taking short breaks.

Area truck drivers will gather for a protest against the logging device rule this morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Newell truck plaza near Interstate-135 and First Street in Newton.
