Kansas Man Scammed Out of Money

Salina Police say they were notified by a man from Lucas, Kansas about losing several thousands of dollars to a phone scam.

The man, a 75-year-old, whose bank is in Salina, notified police on June 20 and says that the scam call came back on April 20.

The scam call told the subject that they were from the Publishers Clearing House. He then sent the scammers his checking information, which they were able to take money from his account.

The subject was later notified by his bank that he was missing $6,000.

Salina Police want to remind the public to be aware of phone scams like these.
