K-4 Resurfacing Underway

Projects are underway to resurface K-4 Highway in portions of Ellsworth, Saline, and McPherson counties.

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, project work will consist of a mill and overlay on about 23.5 miles of K-4 from I-135 southwest to the Ellsworth/Rice County line, excluding K-4 within the city of Lindsborg.

During construction, flaggers and a pilot car will be used to guide one lane of traffic through construction at a reduced speed. Drivers should plan for delays of 15 minutes or less during daylight hours.

Venture Corporation, of Great Bend, is the prime contractor for all three projects, totaling $5.2 million. The projects are scheduled to be completed in late December, conditions permitting.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
