The owner of a Jeep Cherokee was alerted to a crime in progress after the emergency lights began flashing on his vehicle.

Police Lt. Andrew Zeigler tells KSAL News that Sunday morning around 1am, someone entered a 2006 Jeep that was parked in the 400 block of Missouri.

The owner ran out to discover the door open and the steering column damaged. There are no suspects.

Damage is estimated at $500.
