It’s Just Peachy

KSAL StaffAugust 30, 2016

Eat your heat out Georgia. Kansas might soon be known for a peach.

Johnson County could soon be home to the world’s heaviest peach. A peach that was picked at Tubby Fruits in south Johnson County on August 24th weighed more than 763 grams or about 1.7 pounds

Officials say that the peach was weighed Monday at the USDA Milk Market Administration in Lenexa by two certified scientists using a verified scale.

It is expected to take up to 12 weeks for Guinness World Records to review the measurements to see if the peach qualifies as a record holder.
