No one was injured after a fire damaged a home in Hedville on Thursday night.
According to Lt. Sean Kochanowski, Deputies with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential fire at 141 W. Railroad in Hedville just before 11pm Thursday.
Crews from Rural Fire District #3 fought the blaze that damaged the floor and the north wall of the house.
Mark Seedorf, who lives there was not home at the time the fire started, which investigators say could have been caused by a metal pail of ashes from a wood stove.
Deputies say a passerby named Allen Mason saw the fire and called authorities for help. Mason stayed on the scene trying to fight the blaze until fire crews arrived.
