A farmer discing a field in southern Saline County was not hurt after knocking down a pole and several power lines on Thursday.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office reports that 74-year-old Harvey Weis of Lindsborg was discing a corn field in the 1100 block of S. Centennial Road and hit a Westar power pole with the harrow at around 4:30pm.
Deputies say the lines came down and made contact with the tractor.
Weis stayed in the cab and called authorities.
Westar crews restored power to an estimated 25 to 50 homes after repairing the damage about an hour later.
There were no injuries.
