Fuel Tank Fouled

KSAL StaffAugust 23, 2016

Salina Police are investigating a damage to property case in south Salina after a car was vandalized.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that sometime between 10:30pm Sunday and 6:30am Monday, someone pried the gas cap open on a 2011 Toyota Corolla and poured an unknown substance into the fuel tank.

Police say the driver’s door was also damaged after someone apparently forced the lock open and bent the door hinge so it would not close properly.

The car was parked at a residence in the 1300 block of Derby.

Damage is estimated at $1,000.
