Friday Crash Sends Ellsworth Man to Hospital

KSAL StaffApril 14, 2014

An Ellsworth man is injured in what is believed to be an alcohol related crash.

James Brown, 68 was driving his 1997 Chrysler Seabring Convertible on K-140 approximately 1.5 miles west of Brookville Road just after 6:40 p.m. Friday night when the vehicle left the roadway.

Saline County Sheriff’s Captain Roger Soldan tells KSAL news the vehicle left the road on the shoulder before crossing over both lanes of traffic. The car then struck a field entrance and went airborne coming to rest near a line of trees.

Brown was transported to Salina Regional Health Center before being transferred to a hospital in Wichita. He suffered a compound fracture to his leg as well as broken ribs.
