Fatal Crash May Have Been Medical Emergency

Salina Police have identified a man who may have suffered a medical issue and died in a crash on Friday.

Authorities say 55-year-old Mark Marcotte was driving northbound on North Ohio at about 1:15pm Friday when witnesses saw his vehicle begin to swerve across the lanes.

His 2009 Ford F150 then jumped the curb in the 200 block of N. Ohio and hit a tree.

EMS transported Marcotte to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that Marcotte was wearing a seat belt and police are investigating the cause of the single car accident as a possible medical emergency.
