False Robbery Report Leads To Arrests

KSAL StaffFebruary 10, 2014
Saline County Jail

A false report of a robbery leads to three arrests.

Police say that 25-year-old Cedric Cooper reported that he was robbed while walking in the 600 Block of Woodland Friday afternoon. Officers quickly responded to the area, and located and detained two suspects. They are identified as 35-year-old Adam Cross and 41-year-old Troy Pryor, both from Ellsworth.

Officers ultimately determined that there was no robbery. Police believe what really happened is that Cross and Pryor gave Cooper money to buy drugs for them. Cooper allegedly became nervous, and instead of buying drugs reported a bogus robbery.

All three were arrested.

Cooper could face charges that include falsely reporting a crime.

Cross and Pryor could face probation violation charges, and police say that both also had outstanding warrants.
