Enraged Man Damages Salina Home

A Salina man was taken to jail early Thursday morning after his narcotic fueled frenzy damaged his mother’s home.

Captain Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that 27-year-old Derek White was arrested just before 3am Thursday after he allegedly walked into his mother’s home in east Salina and began a verbal argument with her around 1:30am.

Police say Derek White became violent after his mother, Tammy White tried to remove Derek’s son from the home and the escalating situation.

Derek then began punching walls, tore a ceiling fan down, damaged doors, poked holes in the ceiling with a pole and damaged a Toyota Camry that was parked in the garage.

Family members told officers they believed he was under the influence of methamphetamine and became very paranoid.

White is now facing multiple charges for felony damage to property and resisting arrest.

Loss and damage is listed at $1,200.
