Earthquake Shakes Southern Kansas

A small earthquake shook an area of Southern Kansas early Monday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake rattled the Caldwell area. The agency reports that a 3.9 magnitude earthquake happened just after 3:00 Monday morning 11 miles northwest of Caldwell.

Back on December 16th a 3.8 magnitude quake was centered in the same area.

Earthquakes ranging in magnitude from 2.5 to 5.4 are often felt, but only cause minor damage.
