DUI Patrol Tonight

Salina Police stayed busy following the Smoky Hill River Festival Jam Thursday night looking for drunk drivers.

Salina Police are planning a special DUI patrol on New Year’s Eve.

Police Lt. Russ Lamer says a special saturation patrol is planned for December 31st through January 1st.

Four additional officers and a supervisor will be on duty, searching city wide for drunk drivers.

The officers will be on patrol from 11pm Tuesday night through 3am Wednesday morning.

The overtime hours are being funded through an Impaired Driver Deterrence Program grant administered through the Kansas Department of Transportation.
