DUI and Weapon Charges

A Saline County man is facing multiple charges after being arrested twice.

According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, deputies were called to 4720 W. Pleasant Hill Rd on Saturday night at about 8:30pm after a concerned female called to report a possible domestic disturbance. The woman said 62-year-old Robert Brown had told her he shot out his truck window while driving.

Deputies say Brown would not answer his door, but a short time later drove past the deputy’s vehicle.

A short high speed chase ensued with speeds that exceeded 50mph in a 30-mile per hour zone and speeds exceeding 70mph in a 55-mile per hour zone. Brown was stopped in the 2300 block of N. Halstead Road and arrested for fleeing and eluding, DUI, criminal use of a weapon and damage to property. Deputies determined he shot a county road sign with a .38 pistol.

After being released at 4:56am on Sunday morning, someone gave Brown a ride back to his truck and he was stopped again and arrested for DUI at 6am near the interchange at on Old 81 Highway and I-70.
