Driver Crashes While Fleeing Law Enforcement

A driver was hurt when he crashed while fleeing law enforcement in west central Kansas on Thursday.

According to the Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 09:12 am a deputy was investigating a car parked near 1st Road and Avenue K. As the Deputy approached the vehicle, it left at a high rate of speed. It crossed into Russell County.

The Deputy followed the vehicle which then stopped on Stickley Road and 204th Road in Russell County. As the Deputy approached the vehicle it took off again, ran off the right side of the road and overturned.

The driver, Timothy Galliart, was transported by helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment.

Ellsworth county units were assisted by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Highway Patrol and Russell County Emergency Medical Services.
