Double Bucks at Farmers Market

Grants are helping to bring more fresh food to the table for low income families in Salina.

Beginning Tuesday August 30th, individuals who buy food with a Kansas Vision card can double their fresh fruit and vegetable purchase at the Farmers Market on Grand Avenue.

“Through the generosity of The Greater Salina Community Foundation we have secured a grant to start that double up food bucks tomorrow at 9th and Grand,” said Phyll Klima with Salina Farmers Market.

“Anybody that comes in tomorrow with their Vision Card will get double-up food bucks, up to $25 in value to spend at the market.”

Klima tells KSAL News that the FINI program that is based in Kansas and Missouri will expand in 2017 to include all three Farmers Markets in Salina.

Tuesday’s Farmers Market is located at 304 W. Grand Ave and is open from 4pm to 7pm.
