Donut Sale to Help BBBS

Six thousand freshly made donuts will help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina surpass their goal of matching 100 children with 100 mentors in 100 days.

Michelle Peck, BBBS CEO stopped by KSAL Thursday with the tasty details, “We have a little bit of a problem, people are volunteering left and right. Not only are we matching the hundred kids that our goal was, we still have more kids on the waiting list, and we are continuing to match,” she said.

Peck added to keep pace with the number of background checks they have on hold – they need to raise money to match even more children with local mentors.

Sweet Solution

Friday morning, the Dunkin’ Donuts truck will be loaded with 500 dozen donuts for sale and parked in the south lot of Salina’s Central Mall from 7am to 10am.

Peck says BBBS of Salina will get a portion of each box sold.

“We hoping to raise a couple thousand dollars tomorrow morning.”

One box of the variety pack is $13 and can be pre-ordered by calling 825-5509 or on the BBBS Facebook page.
