Crash Effects I 70 Work Zone

KSAL StaffJune 18, 2014

A single vehicle crash in a construction zone on Interstate 70 in Dickinson County slowed traffic Wednesday morning.

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, shortly after 8:00 Wednesday morning a semi tractor-trailer lost control and went off the highway in the work zone on I-70 near the Jeep Road Interchange. Damaged guardrail was removed and a detour was in place while a wrecker removed the semi from the scene. Once that task was completed eastbound traffic was returned to I-70 head to head with westbound traffic.

The removed damaged guardrail is being replaced. While this is happening traffic will be slowed and flagged through that work area but will remain on I-70.

Following the installation of the new guardrail traffic will return to normal flow through the I-70 project work area.
