A child was killed in a ballfield parking lot in Clay Center. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1-year-old child died Monday night after being hit by an SUV in the parking lot.
Troopers say that a Chevrolet Tahoe was backed into a parking space at the Huntress Park ball field. As the driver, 58-year-old Peggy Ward of Clay Center, was leaving she hit the child.
The child is identified as Kael Dame of Clay Center.
The accident happened at 8:05 Monday night
