Police have made an arrest in connection to a forgery and theft case.
Mathue Halpain, 25, of Salina was booked into Saline Co. jail on charges of forgery and felony theft.
91 Checks were stolen from Cabinets Etc, 920 E. North St., on March 6th. Halpain allegedly cashed three of the stolen checks in Salina between April 10th and April 14th. Those checks were cashed at Check Into Cash, 2100 S. 9th; Pump Mart, 1118 N. 9th; and Quik Cash, 2146 Planet Ave totalling $2688.56.
Other stolen checks have not yet been recovered. The investigation remains open as other suspects remain.
